Compassion Corps - Home

About Me:

Simply stated…I am a visionary and practitioner! One who seeks to live among, reach out to, and defend the rights of the marginalized in our society. I do this through acts of compassion.

To this end I have developed a non-profit charity called Compassion Corps.  Our aim - to give free and whole-hearted service to the poor and marginalized.  We are developing a community of servants who will respond to Christ’s call to actively serve those society has cast aside.  Furthermore, we believe that in serving the poor we are actually serving Christ (Mt. 25: 31-46 / Pr. 31: 8-9).

Our current focus is the development of Urban Restoration Projects and a Food Pantry as vehicles to reach prostitutes, the drug-addicted, and impoverished family’s.  Our long-term quest is the development of transitional homes where the marginalized can re-claim their dignity and lives.

Compassion Corps is also developing relief projects for the orphaned and marginalized in collaboration with like-minded charities in Central America.

Finally, I am doing my best to respond to Christ’s specific call on my life to serve the poor.  My first experience with the truly marginalized was in 1996 when I traveled to Split, Croatia and served refugees from the Bosnian / Serbian conflict.  That experience sent me on a personal journey to reach out to, live among and care for those on the edge of society.  I have been traveling to different parts of the world now for 10+ years – working in the slums, mountain villages, urban outposts and in conflict zones.  I have now settled in an urban neighborhood with my family and others who have similar interests.

I am happily married (14 years) with two beautiful children.  Before moving to New Haven, CT. I was a pastor for ten years in Dallas, TX.  I studied Business and Theology at Dallas Baptist University, graduated from Holy Apostles College and Seminary in Cromwell, CT and am currently working in my M.A. in Moral Theology.
